About the founders
Jendayi London Barrios
Born in Trinidad, Jendayi Barrios immigrated to the U.S. as a young child when her mother joined the U.S. military. Her naive belief in the American dream of equal opportunity for all was shattered as she witnessed the reality of inequality and oppression in America.
Frequent military relocation allowed her family to interact with individuals from many different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, many of which Jendayi witnessed undergo hardships simply because of the color of their skin, or the zip code of their birth. Jendayi founded the Love They Neighbor Foundation to promote justice and showcase true freedom and love in action.
Blas Barrios
Blas Barrios is a resilient individual with a powerful story. Raised by an immigrant mother who fought for Cuba's liberation, Blas experienced both privilege and adversity throughout his life. From a troubled past involving incarceration and homelessness, he underwent a transformative journey, discovering faith and embracing a life of love and service.
Inspired by the second greatest commandment, Blas founded the Love Thy Neighbor Foundation to extend a helping hand and empower his community to thrive in Jesus name.
